I am reading a book called The Ten(der)Commandments by Ron Mehl and it talks about GOD's 10 commandments but a look at it on how such love that GOD has toward us who are his children. I have been honestly in a place over the last few weeks that have been some of the most discouraging times in my walk with Christ.. I just was not hearing from the LORD on some things. He was silent and he still is on a specific issue that is between me and him. But that in no way changes how much I love him and I know in the depth of my soul of how much he loves me. Like I say.. it is what it is. Now please for anyone who reads my blog please don't tell me that GOD is in control cause well I know that. I dont' want to hear the Christian sayings cause I know them but right now this is my journey with the LORD no matter if it does not make sense. I am being real here and honestly its the only way that I can be. So here is the rest of the story...I sent this story to many of my friends via email and on a blog that I am apart of. This just so spoke to me today. I pray GOD's richest blessings on you all.
I love the story that I heard about an eight year old boy who sat in class taking a test. He became so nervous and distraught about completing the test on time that he suddenly wet his pants. Horrors! He looked down and saw a little puddle there beneath him. Sick with worry and embarrassment he looked up just in time to see his teacher motioning him to her desk. But how could he move? What would he do? Noticing that the boy seemed frozen in his chair, the teacher got up from her desk and began walking down the aisle toward him. Oh no, he groaned to himself! What in the world am I going to do now? She's going to see this puddle and everybody will laugh. It's going to be terrible.
What he did not know was at that very moment, one of his classmates, a little girl, was coming down the aisle from behind him carrying a fishbowl. When she got beside him, she suddenly lurched and dropped the heavy bowl. It shattered with a large crash and sent water and broken glass going everywhere. Now covered by the fish tank water the boy thought THANK GOD, THANK GOD! THERE is A GOD in heaven what wonderful gift! What a wonderful girl!
But then it dawned on him that little boys don't like little girls. He could not let this incident pass so he looked to her and said, " what is wrong with you, you clumsy clod? Can't you watch where you are going? As the class laughed at the girl, the teacher took the boy to the gym class to get him dry clothes to wear. At lunchtime, no one wanted to sit with the girl. Her friends avoided her. Suddenly she was a plague and pariah. When the day was over and the boy was on his way home he walked out the door and saw her. All the kids were leaving but she was walking by herself, along the fence. HE began to reflect on what had happened that day and suddenly on impulse he walked over to her. He said, you know I've been thinking about what happened today. That was not an accident today was it? You did that on purpose? Yes she said I did do it on purpose. I knew what had happened to you. You see, I wet my pants once too.
This story reminded me that I don’t' ever want to forget what my GOD has done for me. I too have wet my pants. But you covered me. You spilled your precious blood for me and covered my sins; you took the shame upon yourself. Now, I am clean. You have fit me for heaven even though I deserved hell. You saw my helpless situation and rescued me. Why should I ever want to put anything above him? He promised to provide for everything that I need. My life has completely changed so why not tell the world what a mess that I was in before he found me? But Jesus came along and took away my embarrassment and shame. OH how I love him. That's the reason we can hold out hope for others. That's the reason we can say, "Put God 1st and He'll cover your past. If God has forgiven me, he can forgive you.
My prayer is this… Lord I praise you as the all-powerful, all-knowing, every-where present GOD of the universe. What really touches me is that you control all things for my good! You made me for yourself and it moves me to think you would choose me for a committed love relationship. You have proven your faithfulness to me so many times and in so many ways. Why would I ever seek another god who would be so grossly inadequate in comparison to you? And so today, LORD, give me the grace to love you every day as you have loved me.
